Koa, born 7/29/25, weighed 15.6 pounds at birth. Despite a challenging start, he has shown remarkable resilience and is now thriving, gaining almost a pound per day! Koa's unique combination of very white, crimpy, dense fiber, reminiscent of his sire, Sawdust's Zaire, sets him apart. Splendera, a first-time mom on our farm, is proving to be a very attentive and protective mom to this little guy. Koa is a flowering tree native to the islands of Maui and O'ahu in Hawaii. The word Koa also means brave, bold, fearless, or warrior. This seemed to fit Koa, even though it is not a white wood. Koa will start the show season in February when we attend the Wild West and Golden West Shows in Sacramento, CA. We are excited to see the comparison to others in his age, color, and sex class. Our extraordinary surprise for the day!! Zora gave birth to this exceptional 19.6-pound male cria on 10/3/2025. With very straight conformation, crimpy fiber, and an energetic spirit, he's genuinely one of a kind. His name is Maclura (Mac). ARI # is pending as of 10/13/25. This guy will be a great show alpaca. He joins Ejan (born 9/22/25) and Koa (born 7/29/25), and the 3 are always together! Maclura is a member of the Breadfruit family. Maclura is also known as Osage Orange. Osage trees grow in Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. The Osage Indians used the wood to make their bows. Zitan was born on 7/29/17 and is an excellent addition to our ranch. He has beautiful fiber (a 2020 count of 21.8 microns) and good, solid conformation. Zitan's sire is our Kamiak's Kohana, who is a Lennox descendant. His dam is KC's Be Flirty. Zitan was a first-place winner in the walking fleece competition at the Alpacapalooza/CABA show in Portland, OR, on May 12, 2018. In 2019, Zitan took 6th place in the Halter Show. We did not continue to enter him into the show ring. We have, however, sent fiber into fleece shows. At the TXOLAN Fleece Show in February 2021, Zitan placed 3rd. The judge, Amanda Vanden Bosch, said there was "some variation in length, but soft to the hand and lighter in weight." Zitan, affectionately nicknamed Shogun, has been sponsored by the US Navy Carrier Air Wing Division. His pictures can be found in several areas of the USS Abraham Lincoln, the US Navy's carrier ship. SAWDUST'S ZENKERI was born on May 21, 2019, and has a medium fawn coat. Zenkeri's sire is Immanuel Cuervo Plateado, who is a descendant of Augusto. His dam is Squire Creek's Rose Pistol, a light rose gray. Zenkeri takes after his mother and is a lively and friendly fellow. He has a very consistent, crimpy coat similar to his father's, and he is a joy to have on the ranch. Meet the striking male, HIGH COTTON, a vision in white with a bright, gorgeous crimp. His unique appearance, a surprise from his lineage of Snowmass Illuminescence and Alpaca Palace's Zinger, sets him apart. Doesn't he look like Cotton? Cotton is a true Snowmass phenotype with a short nose and lots of fiber on his head. He has excellent conformation and a very calm disposition. Cotton will be a great addition to your herd due to his genetics and fiber. As of 4/13/23, Cotton has proven himself as a herdsire, climbing over a 4 ft fence to get to the girls. He was in several different classes, including one called "Get of Sire," where 3 alpacas from the same sire are judged in the ring at the same time to see how many traits their sire has passed onto them. Babanus was classified as Dark Brown during the GWAS/RMAS color check. They did not consider him to be BayBlack. He placed 2nd in GWAS Halter, 3rd in the RMAS Halter, and 6th in Walking Fleece. Babanus was the youngest alpaca in his color/age class out of 325 registered show alpacas. So we are very pleased with his results. We initially called this male alpaca Zinger 2 before we finally named him Sawdust's Tabasco. A cria born on our farm will have a wooden name. Tabasco is a Prima Vera wood (white Mahogany) from Honduras. Tabasco was born on October 5, 2022, weighing 19.7 pounds. He is more beige than the fawn color of his sire, Alpaca Palace's Zinger. Tabasco has excellent conformation and a nice, crimped fiber. We have high hopes of showing him in the spring shows. On April 28-30, 2023, we proudly entered Tabasco in the combined show (Great Western Alpaca/Rocky Mountain Alpaca Showcase) held in Denver, CO. Despite being one of the youngest alpacas competing, among over 325 entries, Tabasco's 6th place in the walking fleece category was a remarkable feat. We are eagerly anticipating his performance in the next show in October. In October 2023, we entered Tabasco in the Gold Country Gathering and CA Classic combined shows held in Orland, CA. He performed admirably, placing 6th in Walking Fleece, 2nd in the Gold Country Gathering Halter Show, and 3rd in the CA Classic Halter Show. We have entered Tabasco again in the Great Western Alpaca Show and Rocky Mountain Alpaca Showcase, which will be held in Cheyenne, WY, from May 3-5, 2024. We are eagerly anticipating his performance this year and can't wait to share the results with you! Tabasco possesses excellent genetics, conformation, fiber, and a calm disposition, making him a fantastic package. How did we get a White cria? We bred WP Zora (Medium Rose Gray) to Alpaca Palace's Zinger (Medium Fawn). We got a pure white little guy with very crimpy fiber and good conformation. Excellent genetics on both sides of the parents. Ceiba, born on 10/18/22, weighed a healthy 17.5 pounds. It was a bit chilly here, so he had to wear a little coat, which made him look even cuter. As the 2023 Show season approaches, we're eagerly anticipating his debut. He should be old enough to show, and we're excited to see how he'll perform next year. Ceiba made his debut in the Great Western Alpaca Show (GWAS) and the Rocky Mountain Alpaca Showcase (RMAS), held 4/28-4/30/23 in Denver, CO. Despite being the youngest of 325 entries, Ceiba showed his mettle by placing 3rd in both halter shows. This is a promising start for a young alpaca, indicating his potential for future success in the show ring. This young guy, Ceiba, is a bundle of potential. Sawdust's Albizia, born on 10/4/23, made a grand entrance into this world with a little help. But once he arrived, he wasted no time in getting on his feet. Starting at a healthy 15.4 lbs, he has now (3/20/24) grown to an impressive 76 pounds, showing promising growth and potential. His Mom, Snow Diamond Felicity, took exceptional care of this guy. Albizia is light brown with a little grey streak down his back and white patches on his tail. His sire is Sawdust's High Cotton (white). All the characteristics we want to see - conformation, crimp, genetics - are there in this guy. While Albi has enjoyed pronking with his 10-day older friend, Sawdust's Tulip, he has now graduated to the juvenile male pen. We have nicknamed him "Moose". Albizia, our young star, will be making his mark in the alpaca world. He is set to travel to Cheyenne, WY, in May 2024 to participate in the prestigious Great Western Alpaca Show and the Rocky Mountain Alpaca Showcase. We couldn't be more proud of his journey and we're excited to see him shine. Albizia's paperwork shows that he is a Rose Gray. At the show, they classified him as a Roan color.
