Koa, born 7/29/25, weighed 15.6 pounds at birth. Despite a challenging start, he has shown remarkable resilience and is now thriving, gaining almost a pound per day! Koa's unique combination of very white, crimpy, dense fiber, reminiscent of his sire, Sawdust's Zaire, sets him apart. Splendera, a first-time mom on our farm, is proving to be a very attentive and protective mom to this little guy. Koa is a flowering tree native to the islands of Maui and O'ahu in Hawaii. The word Koa also means brave, bold, fearless, or warrior. This seemed to fit Koa, even though it is not a white wood. Our extraordinary surprise for the day!! Zora gave birth to this exceptional 19.6-pound male cria on 10/3/2025. Osage trees grow in Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. The Osage Indians used the wood to make their bows. Zitan was born on 7/29/17 and is an excellent addition to our ranch. He has beautiful fiber (a 2020 count of 21.8 microns) and good, solid conformation. Zitan's sire is our Kamiak's Kohana, who is a Lennox descendant. His dam is KC's Be Flirty. Zitan was a first-place winner in the walking fleece competition at the Alpacapalooza/CABA show in Portland, OR, on May 12, 2018. In 2019, Zitan took 6th place in the Halter Show. We did not continue to enter him into the show ring. We have, however, sent fiber into fleece shows. At the TXOLAN Fleece Show in February 2021, Zitan placed 3rd. The judge, Amanda Vanden Bosch, said there was "some variation in length, but soft to the hand and lighter in weight." Zitan, affectionately nicknamed Shogun, has been sponsored by the US Navy Carrier Air Wing Division. His pictures can be found in several areas of the USS Abraham Lincoln, the US Navy's carrier ship. Meet the striking male, HIGH COTTON, a vision in white with a bright, gorgeous crimp. His unique appearance, a surprise from his lineage of Snowmass Illuminescence and Alpaca Palace's Zinger, sets him apart. Doesn't he look like Cotton? Cotton is a true Snowmass phenotype with a short nose and lots of fiber on his head. He has excellent conformation and a very calm disposition. Babanus was classified as Dark Brown during the GWAS/RMAS color check. They did not consider him to be BayBlack. He placed 2nd in GWAS Halter, 3rd in the RMAS Halter, and 6th in Walking Fleece. Babanus was the youngest alpaca in his color/age class out of 325 registered show alpacas. So we are very pleased with his results. We initially called this male alpaca Zinger 2 before we finally named him Sawdust's Tabasco. A cria born on our farm will have a wooden name. Tabasco is a Prima Vera wood (white Mahogany) from Honduras. Tabasco was born on October 5, 2022, weighing 19.7 pounds. He is more beige than the fawn color of his sire, Alpaca Palace's Zinger. Tabasco has excellent conformation and a nice, crimped fiber. We have high hopes of showing him in the spring shows. On April 28-30, 2023, we proudly entered Tabasco in the combined show (Great Western Alpaca/Rocky Mountain Alpaca Showcase) held in Denver, CO. Despite being one of the youngest alpacas competing, among over 325 entries, Tabasco's 6th place in the walking fleece category was a remarkable feat. We are eagerly anticipating his performance in the next show in October. In October 2023, we entered Tabasco in the Gold Country Gathering and CA Classic combined shows held in Orland, CA. He performed admirably, placing 6th in Walking Fleece, 2nd in the Gold Country Gathering Halter Show, and 3rd in the CA Classic Halter Show. We have entered Tabasco again in the Great Western Alpaca Show and Rocky Mountain Alpaca Showcase, which will be held in Cheyenne, WY, from May 3-5, 2024. We are eagerly anticipating his performance this year and can't wait to share the results with you! How did we get a White cria? We bred WP Zora (Medium Rose Gray) to Alpaca Palace's Zinger (Medium Fawn). We got a pure white little guy with very crimpy fiber and good conformation. Excellent genetics on both sides of the parents. Ceiba, born on 10/18/22, weighed a healthy 17.5 pounds. It was a bit chilly here, so he had to wear a little coat, which made him look even cuter. As the 2023 Show season approaches, we're eagerly anticipating his debut. He should be old enough to show, and we're excited to see how he'll perform next year. Ceiba made his debut in the Great Western Alpaca Show (GWAS) and the Rocky Mountain Alpaca Showcase (RMAS), held 4/28-4/30/23 in Denver, CO. Despite being the youngest of 325 entries, Ceiba showed his mettle by placing 3rd in both halter shows. This is a promising start for a young alpaca, indicating his potential for future success in the show ring. This young guy, Ceiba, is a bundle of potential. Sawdust's Albizia, born on 10/4/23, made a grand entrance into this world with a little help. But once he arrived, he wasted no time in getting on his feet. Starting at a healthy 15.4 lbs, he has now (3/20/24) grown to an impressive 76 pounds, showing promising growth and potential. His Mom, Snow Diamond Felicity, took exceptional care of this guy. Albizia is light brown with a little grey streak down his back and white patches on his tail. His sire is Sawdust's High Cotton (white). All the characteristics we want to see - conformation, crimp, genetics - are there in this guy. While Albi has enjoyed pronking with his 10-day older friend, Sawdust's Tulip, he has now graduated to the juvenile male pen. We have nicknamed him "Moose". Albizia, our young star, will be making his mark in the alpaca world. He is set to travel to Cheyenne, WY, in May 2024 to participate in the prestigious Great Western Alpaca Show and the Rocky Mountain Alpaca Showcase. We couldn't be more proud of his journey and we're excited to see him shine. Albizia's paperwork shows that he is a Rose Gray. At the show, they classified him as a Roan color. ZINGER is a standout, Great phenotype and bone structure. His fiber is very consistent throughout his whole frame. He is the spitting image of his sire, ZAGATO, ARI #32423105, a multi-ribbon champion! Zagato produced a boy in his likeness with SA Peruvian What's Cooking (Cookie), and he is a real Zinger! He has all the attributes of a great one like his Sire, Multi-Judge's Choice and Champion, Sunset Hill's Zagato. We purchased him with his mom, Cookie, at the Las Vegas Priority Auction , 2017, and what a looker. The judges at AlpacaPalooza and the Great Western Alpaca Show in 2017 were very impressed. 4/10/17 Our first of the season, and what a guy. ARI # 35222385. Sawdust's Almond Thunder weighed a whopping 23.5 lbs at birth and is gaining a pound a day, a testament to his robust health and potential as a herdsire. Sawdust Alpacas is very pleased with this boy. He is a very well-put-together male with a significant phenotype and bone structure. His crimp style is passed on from his sire, Sunset Hill's Golden Thunder (ARI #31017435) and his dam, Skyline's Almond Joy (ARI # 32821666). His consistent color is passed down from Joy's Lennox line. Thunder is not just a PR alpaca, he's a friendly companion. He loves to meet people and sometimes gives kisses, showing his affectionate nature. He has a great personality and disposition, making him a joy to have on the farm. He has soft-handled, dense fiber. With a 22-micron count, Thunder's fiber can be used for a wide range of products. We found this Beautiful White girl at the Priority Auction in Las Vegas in 2017. She is a solid producer, with a gorgeous crimp and a multi-ribbon holder. She came with a cria at her side—Alpaca Palace's Zinger. LOOK who she was bred to for an August 2017 cria. HOUDINI!! What a prize. MAPLE was born on August 23, 2017, a beautiful Beige. Diamond came to us unexpectedly this summer. What a great surprise!! Diamond's sire is Snow Diamond Gamblin Man, and her dam is H&S Dream Girl. Both are well-known names in the alpaca world. Diamond has produced several crias for the previous owner. We have high hopes for Diamond's breeding potential, having bred her to Sawdust's Madrone (an Isidoro son) for a late spring 2026 cria. Isidoro is from Kendal Creek Farms in Pennsylvania and is a 17-time champion. 6/28/26 Unfortunately, Diamond's beautiful male cria was stillborn. I cannot find any information for Diamond or her dam, H&S Dream Girl. ROSE PISTOL is a purchase last Thanksgiving from Liberty Alpacas in WA. She was bred to The Black Medallion when we got her. In June, Rose gave birth to a premature little girl we named Sawdust's Melanie. Both Rose and cria got off to a rough start but with a little help from the vet, both are doing great. We gave Pistol a little break, but now have her bred to our KOHANA. This pairing has us excited for next year in August 2017. 8/18/2017 UPDATE ROSE PISTOL just gave birth to a gorgeous Light Silver Grey male. Sawdust's Paulownia will be going to Alpacapalooza/Caba show in Portland OR May 11-13, 2018. PISTOL is now bred and confirmed to our main stud on the ranch, IMMANUAL CUERVO PLATEADO. A MFI BROCK son. What a combination, a white to this rose grey. Zenkeri (light fawn) was born on 5/21/18. Definitely takes after his mom in temperment, but did get his sire's fiber. A Paca Fun's Black Dalhia, the daughter of Silver Elation and the offspring of A Paca Fun's Super Sonic, is a one-of-a-kind alpaca. This exceptional pairing has resulted in a jet black, bright fleece with square conformation, upright presence, and a beautifully soft handle. According to Neil (A Paca Fun Farm), Dalhia's pedigree boasts an impressive collection of blacks and greys, including 5 Peruvian Royal Inca Legend, Peruvian Macusane, 4 Peruvian Black Magic, Silver Legend of KPS, Snowmass Peruvian Casanova, and Emerald Farm's Orlando Cloud. On October 6, 2022, Dalhia gave birth to a male cria weighing 15.6 lbs at birth. Murwiti has become quite a handsome male, carrying on his mother's jet black fleece, square confirmation, upright presence, and soft-handled fleece.
